Bursaries
TDA training bursary:
Some postgraduate students are eligible for a training bursary from the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) – please see the information on Finance page.
The TDA training bursary is administered by your provider on behalf of the TDA and you apply for this bursary as part of your course induction when you start your course. Cornwall SCITT will then pay you your bursary directly. To be eligible for a training bursary, you must be a home or EU trainee on a TDA funded course and be eligible for student support. Training bursaries are tax-free for full-time students.
Cornwall SCITT Bursaries:
For the year 2011/12 Cornwall SCITT is offering the following bursary:
Students in receipt of the full Maintenance Grant (£2,906) will receive £339. This bursary will be paid in three equal amounts at the end of each term of the course as long as the student is still actively registered. This money does not have to be paid back.
The SCITT bursary for 2012/13 has yet to be confirmed.
The Access to Learning Fund:
This is to help eligible students who find themselves in financial difficulties or who are facing additional unexpected costs. Students can apply at any time throughout the academic year but must have taken out their full entitlement of the student loan. The Access to Learning Fund is administered through Cornwall SCITT and is non-repayable.
