  • I have been impressed by the quality of the course and the strength of the partnership that underpins it.  The partnership with the local schools is very strong; all of the professionals working with the trainee teachers know them very well and have trained them effectively.  A significant characteristic of this course is the quality of support given to schools and trainees by the SCITT team. Trainees become very well known, their progress monitored and their training is personalised where possible.  The trainees on this course are valued by the schools in which they are placed and they demonstrate high levels of professionalism.
  • It is evident that the quality of teaching and support is excellent.  Feedback from the trainees is always very positive about the training and support given by the school staff and the centre-based staff.
  • M -level trainees are given excellent support in meeting M level criteria through a number of separate sessions specifically dedicated to meet their needs as well as frequent tutorial support.
  • Schools provide an excellent context in which to achieve Standards for QTS. The course is providing a high level of training.  The small intimate nature of it allows for a very personalised learning approach.  The course is highly regarded by local schools; it is their provider of choice.  Many trainees secure posts locally; this is a good sign of a well regarded course.
  • Students are provided with comprehensive and good quality supporting materials and guidance for their school based experiences. The strength of the SCITT is its relationships with schools, headteachers and mentors. There is a strong sense of community and commitment towards training the students to become teachers.
