Assessment Only Route
Cornwall SCITT has been approved to run the Assessment Only route to Qualified Teacher Status.
If you are a very experienced teacher with a degree and you think you already meet all of the standards for qualified teacher status (QTS), you can apply for a place on the Assessment Only (AO) route to QTS.
The AO route to QTS allows you to demonstrate that you already meet all the QTS standards, without the need for any further training. You will need to present detailed evidence, and your teaching will be assessed in a school by an accredited and approved provider. This should take no more than one term. You must also take the professional skills tests in literacy znd numeracy before you can be recommended for QTS.

Fees for this will be approximately £2000 plus travel and expenses for the assessor for a minimum of 3 visits to you. As we have limited places, priority has been given to applicants employed in Cornish secondary schools. At the present time, we are not able to assess primary applicants.
