Those following this programme will be expected to find their own local accommodation. Please ask your course administrator, who may be able to advise of local student accommodation or estate agents to approach.
Some of our partnership schools have childcare facilities locally; Truro College also has a nursery on-site.
All of our partnership schools are committed to ensuring that those with disabilities are fully supported, and making reasonable adjustments to support those with specific needs relating to a disability. Both training centres are accessible.
Those with additional learning needs will be supported throughout the course by management staff and, where appropriate, academic tutors.
We recommend that applicants have their own means of transport. You will be required to travel to a minimum of two different schools during your training.
Cornwall SCITT (Secondary) and Cornwall SCITT (Primary) are based at separate campuses. This is to ensure that each course is uniquely tailored to the phase in which you will be training.
Truro College has a large Learning Resources Centre, with computer access and a large collection of education textbooks. Those studying with Cornwall SCITT may also access Truro College’s counselling service.
For those undertaking PGCE (Masters Level 7) study, a wide range of resources can be accessed via Truro & Penwith College’s Learning Resources Centre and online resources from the accrediting University.
Cornwall SCITT (Secondary) is based at Truro College.
Cornwall SCITT (Primary) is based at Heartlands, Pool.
We work with a wide range of partnership schools across Cornwall for the purposes of school placements during our training programmes.
